Hi all,
One of the nexts tasks on the list is to fit a starter motor but first I need to take off the alternator and fit all the starter internals.
It looks fairly straight forward but I'm sure there are things to watch out for.
Any thoughts?

Measure crank end to alt nut w electronic gauge. If that is like 0,6mm smaller when all put together, the inner shim is out of place, fallen behind spacer.
Do check which rotation makes the sprag work correctly if you take it apart.
Big screwdriver etc into hole in crankcase when torqueing alt nut bad, small pieces may loosen from house.
Ask me how I know these....😏
And clean threads thoroughly on crank, seen one pic of one who ruined them. Very rare but better safe.
