I got it from a friend of mine about 12 or so years ago. I traded him a MH900e for it. He found it in Iran and brought it to the US. I have the original invoice from Ducati to the buyer in Iran. It had water damage in the front cylinder and some scratches on the bodywork. Apparently the original buyer piled it into the side of a trailer, or so the story goes. It only has a couple hundred KMs on it.

I was gonna restore it myself but never found the time, so I broke down and gave it to a very good restoration guy I know. He did it in a few months and I just picked it up from him a week ago. He did an incredible job. Haven't had a chance to ride it yet and this weekend it is going to rain...🙁

Bill---For years every winter I put two Corse's and my street Corse in the house-- great to look at on a winter morning.--In the spring they were moved out of the house and used on the street and on the track. So art and riders--- So there can be a middle ground.

95, first year, in the US anyways. One of the early ones that were made in Varese at the Cagiva factory. A lot more attention went into the Varese bikes, such as ported intake tracts. I got it new, September 3rd, 1994. First Ducati I owned.

Not an SP, just a regular one. Had the tail section painted after some moron bicyclist ran into it when it was parked on the side of the road. Still has some minor scratches on the lower I never bothered to fix. Only time it ever went down. It has a few upgrades I did way back, Ohlins fork & shock, Termi exhaust & custom chip, cast iron Brembos rotors, Marchesini 5-spoke mags. I club raced it too for about a year or two. Never given me any problems other than the 2 phase regulator early on.

I love this bike and I don't think there is enough money to buy it off me. This Ducati very much changed and defined my life over the last 22 years.

Also ohlins rear shock,has OG carbon foot rests now and i still have a carbon fuel tank laying for it as well.

I think those early 916's and 748's were the most beautiful motorcycles ever made since the Norton Commando. Magic to ride too. Too bad they changed from that classic style script for the graphics in 1998.
