Try this guy in Belgium. I spoke with him yesterday and he is going to start making SPS tanks in Carbon. The tank currently for sale is in Polyester for around 900 euros complete. He makes other Carbon parts for 851/888,s as well.............probably he is known on this website (?).

Is this the type of Carbon tank you are looking for ? I think it is the 851 version and as you can see it is fixed at the back and not hinged.

Sorry about the orange but it was on the bike when I got it.

The'93 racing tank looked like the SPS tank.
with that hump.
The '94 is the one you want late style tank but has no hump.

Henk you are right, I have the tank with the hump fitted, but require the none hump type, pin type rear fastener and buckle type front fastener.

I have only seen one Corse mockup photograph which the factory made and shows that the '93 Corse would have and SPS carbon tank with the vent hump.

I have never seen a picture of a Customer Racing or a Factory Works '93 Corse using the SPS style tank.

I own 3 '93 Corse's -- and all '93's I have seen in person or in photo's have the same tank as the '94 Customer Racing bikes. Do you have track pictures of a '93 with the SPS style tank?

Late style carbon race tank

Some time ago, Peter from Oronero showed photos of a prototype molds and I believe a finished example of a late style '94 Corse tank in carbon, with the closed front, front latching, hinged and completely humpless. I do not know what ever became of production plans and would be very interested myself. Maybe Stafford could nudge Peter a bit and find out if there are any further plans or that there are those here on the forum that who would be extremely happy to hear some good news as to there eventual availability.

It was in with the "SPS style" tank on the sales brochure.
And there is that picture that was taken in the factory.
Don't know if i have another picture of it.
So you think all the 888 racings had the flat tank?

I believe that the picture in Conti's book is an early mockup of the '93 Corse and it was the only bike with an SPS tank. The SPS tank had the small fuel pump and the factory found that it was not as reliable as the large pump. All '93/'94 Corse's I have ever seen have the flat tanks with large fuel pumps.

As Mark said, it was a pre-serie used in the pictures of the brochure '93.
The frame was even not a Racing frame.
Tank was in SPS style (but a little bit different in fact).

The real Racing 93 (photos 3&4) was build with the same carbon tank as 94 bike, without letterbox opening on the front and flat above.

I have had this mold for quite some time, one photo shows the factory part number, the other shows the other 2 parts of the mold.
The mold was built by a company called body double, Jeff built very high quality parts when he retired I bought all of the Ducati molds.
If this is for the tank you need let me know.

I bought a few parts off of Paul-- I also had his early bodywork on one of my track bikes and was really happy with them. Last time I spoke to Paul I think he was going through some physical challenges-- memory is very hazy on this. Many years back.

Mark, I think you were talking of Jeff Taylor who was body double, he has recovered from all his health issues, but sadly retired from making parts, a great loss!
I last saw you at barber for the Britten reunion.

Yes Paul-- I meant Jeff. Great to hear that he is doing well. I still have two of his Corse noses- he did make nice panels. We should really have pictures of ourself next to our Avatars- That was the best Barber I have ever attended. I wonder who up there wore Crocs -- seem to remember someone -- let me think.
