Barely managed to get back from a late summer ride today... Clutch cylinder on Strada 93 started eating fluid half way... filled up with some transmitions oil at a friends house 🙁 almost no funktion left when back home : straight on to the job at hand.. Original cylinder show severe sign of corrosion and wear. Knowing about this was a question of time, I have few 'new version' replacements ready .. which i thought was a plug and play.. NOT.. When ventilated.. and hard as a rock.. not clutch function, preliminary conclusion: pin through case is to short / piston seat deeper on the the new version.
Question : will a new pin 'longer' (through the case) from a new'r engine version do the trick or will i just run into new differences ? ( I have the newer cylinder versions on the ST4S based engines as well, where i believe the newer version comes from .. maybe earlier ?) New cylinder version seem better quality and less subject for dirt/water coming in from the back side ..
Any one been down this road..

Put a bit of round stock in the slave cyclinder to take up the differeance. The MPL ones came with one to cater for early or late model fit.

I've had good success with a 8mm ball bearing for this purpose (though I think the actual measured difference is slightly more than 8mm)

New cylinders seems to be better.
A new rod will do the trick if you dont want to extend the one you have.
