Just hoping someone can give some pointers with my SP2.
Its in at a Yamaha dealer at the mo, took it in for its test, should have collected it a week ago but a megga busy week, went for it Yesterday, they wheeled it to the front of the shop, keys in, totally dead, no nothing, thinking it was the battery i said that i would bring my trickle charger over for them to leave it on charge, telephoned them Today and all good, they had started it up and it started up immediately :-) so got my gear asked the wife (nicely) if she would drop me off, the guy at the counter said they will bring it round for me, guess what :-( same again, charger plugged in and it was showing full charge. So a bit lost with it, any ideas?
Early in the season it did do something similar, i flicked the kill switch on/off and all was fine, just wondering if it could be related? saying that, surly the kill switch wouldn't cause a total off with everything?
Cheers

Sounds like the relay in the seat unit or a totally knackered battery. I would go for the relay/fuse unit. One controls all the systems and one controls the fuel pump. Swap them around(they are the same), if all your power comes on and no fuel pump, you know it's the relay.

does the sp2 have the fusible link above the battery? little black box with red wires in and out. they can crack, and open with heat.

Just telephoned the garage hoping the info below (Relays) might have sorted the prob, no such luck :-( they have swapped the ignition relays over & its still the same, what is a bit of a mystery, when they have had it turning over there isn't a spark now, so it seems to swap from nothing at all i.e. no lights no nothing to ignition coming on and turning over with no spark, said ill leave them with it :-( just wondering could it be something simple like the battery even though its showing full charge on the trickle charger? its always left on this but with one thing & another it ended up waiting for me to collect it for nearly a week with no charger plugged in, saying that they have said that its turning over ok.. at least the weather forecast is c--- this w-e
