stafford Hi chaps, do any of our German friends have the generic information that goes on type plate on the frame. See attached picture, it's required for a 851 rebuild. Thanks or danke
dudlington I have a German bike originally without a name tag and had my name tag engraved like this. As you can see mine has a TP number on the headstock as the bike was built by an importer Helmut Thome (Moto Holme). I hope this helps.
851 tricolore A TP number is used for grey imports or build ups. stands for 'somethng or other' Prototype maybe Typ Prototype to be exact ? You can enter the type of bike, eg: ZDM851S or whatever you have, the first part of the chassis number in my case. then the rest of the chassis number as on your log book. and the maximum all up weight including rider(s) fuel, the lot. If you have German papers they will be on there somewhere for my trico it's 375kg which quite nicely leaves 170kg for me, riding gear, fuel etc on top of the 205kg ready to go without fuel weight. (a bit more generous than my DB2 which allows just 95kg !) Duds' 215kg is the wrong figure as far as I understand it ! and engraving is a good tip- if you stamp it the plate distorts and curls up all the best Ian
dudlington I filled my ID plate with the info on the German registration document. 215Kg is mentioned on the document as the Leergewicht Kg. I also think there is another mistake for the type und ausfuhrung , it says ZDM8882 and I think this should be ZDM888S. However I filled in my ID plate so it was the same as on the German registration document. I hope this helps.
dudlington 851 Tricolore Yes you are correct I have just seen the Zul.Gesamt gewicht Kg on the German paperwork is 425Kg. Maybe I should get it changed ?????
dudlington Stafford , nice bike you are building. Did I miss the thread on that one ? How is Emily ? (The bike I originally sold you before you rebuilt it completely)
