Early CF tank on later 888 Frame

Hi

Found this beautiful early 91 CF NOS tank, and plan to use it for a 888R main frame/sp4-5 Alu rear frame..I wonder if a flip tank conversion / hinge of some sort has been thought out and done before, if yes it would likely be by some of you gents.
(I will NOT consider cutting/converting the tank it self)

The top side would also need some thinking as i don't have the holes for the tank stubs... i recon that the rubber blocks used on the steel tanks could be double sided...

Should any one of you have a later 888 CF race tank as spare and would consider a trade, I'm interested.

How do you prevent rotation/lock the hinge when fliped up ?

what have you done in the front end to lock the tank / sides ways ?

Are you using the rubber straps to keep it down ?

Hi,

I have made an adjustable tank stay to keep it up. I have the corsa tank, so have the bands at the front. This is under the tank.

That looks neat mate, whats the material you've used to make the block for the tank to rest on at the rear mount ?

Is that the SP5 in its latest mode....looks cool..... , I like the fork leg adjusters on top of the Ohlins legs. Are the yokes magnesium...... ? like the airbox too mate , would that fit under a strada tank... ?

I,m sure some suitably thick double sided tape under the tension from the fixing bolt will be enough to stop it rotatiing.............however if I was doing it the fixing tab would sit in a recess from the rotating block to stop it rotating (Plus the double sided tape). Still a nice idea though.

Yes mate. Yokes are Mag. And airbox will fit under strada tank.
