outtacontrolla Hi all , Have 851 motor came from Ducati North America as race team engine used for training ! Looks similar to a Tri-colour Kit engine .... Engine number ZDM851W4R*000179* C stamped on heads and A1 cams . Anyone confirm the Lucchinelli-ness of the motor ? Came with new unused and unpainted frame (no numbers !) looks similar to Tri-colour kit frames i have ..... Cheers Steve .
BABA It seems to be a strada engine from 89 (it must be a B, not a R). Lucchinelli Replica engine and kit version had A cams (A1 are strada cams) and engine number is ZDM851W4*850XXX* (XXX serial number) strada 88 should be ZDM851W4B*850xxx* See page 27A and 28 modifications to make on C head for race.mods-851-racing.pdf12.31MB
outtacontrolla That number could be a B , reciept says R tho ... Wondering why no 850 in the number part ? Looks like the Kit motor next to it , but that has this number on cases ! (pic 3). Thank for the help mate .
BABA Confirmed, it's a B. The Lucchinelli Replica engine has the clutch slave cylinder in the clutch cover, here we see the clutch control rod, so the clutch slave cylinder is external on the left side, so it's definitely an '89 strada engine. Despite to the engine number, the Lucchinelli replica has an 888cc displacement.
