sagot I'm taking my 1993 888 SPO to The Ridge Raceway this summer and I'm looking for input for set up. Bearing in mind these will be "track days" only. So far on the list is: -Sharkskinz fairing -Pirelli Diablo Rosso II (not a great track tire I know but they are already on...) -new clutch -good chain and sprockets Also, question - is it possible to adjust the rev limiter (lower) on the P8 computer?
hauge Hello! Put some effort in the suspension set up. There is plenty of webpages where you read how you can set the preload (sag) and damping. This is important on a track day bike. Some one who can program a chip for a P8, will be able to adjust the rev limiter. Keep the black side down!
sagot Yes, very good point about sag and suspension. I will talk to my local Ducati guys about the rev limit. I want to set it a bit low as I rely on it, heavily, on our CBR 600 track bike...
griff851 You need to read whether you have to dump the coolant and replace with water. Lockwire filler and drain plugs (including forks if they have a drain screw), oil catch tank, you may need a sump pan. Usually no headlight or indicators. Find out if there are noise restrictions and what they are. Hope that helps some.
Jafa Bris Vegas is tough, over here in Wait Awhile we ride to the track, they make us put a piece of electrical tape over the speedo, and you're on the track for the day, no worries. I took the mirrors off, but they don't make you. Some people don't ride home at the end though..........
sagot Thanks for all the info, Y'all! My point is more about saving the motor. With that in mind perhaps I should just swap it out for a ST4S or something like that, that I can flog to my hearts content!
