888 coolant hoses

I found that the 1997-2003 ST2 coolant hose kit from AS3 Performance fit my 93 888, with one very small hose not used. Fit was a little tight, but probably the same for the ST, clamps and hoses are great, and the cost is a bit less than SAMCO. Still waiting on delivery of the SAMCO hoses for my 94 888 so I will have a comparison when complete.

About $140 for the hoses and about $50 for the clamps. Because the hoses are heavy duty, economy clamps would be fine.

I've had/known of a few early OEM hoses cracking and leaking, normal type rubber hoses won't last forever and our 851/888's are getting quite long in the tooth now!
So when I rebuilt/tuned my '92 851 I fitted silicon Samco hoses as an insurance, as I didn't want the original ones letting me down hundreds of miles from home.
I covered 650 miles last weekend on my '92 851/916cc riding up for a DOCGB event, 225 miles each way and a pretty fast 200 miles ride out.

My oem hoses just wore out and became so thin at the clamping area that they leaked.

Did you ever get the SAMCO's? Have you had any issues with the AS3 hoses? Fitment differences?

Opinion? Is the AS3 "good enought"?
