A quick question about my trip meter on my 851. It is frozen and any ideas on how I free it? How do I get to the cable to lubricate it as I imagine that is why it is stuck.
Any advice would be appreciated. It would be good to know how far I have traveled on a tank of petrol.

Probably the cable. If I remember correctly there is a split pin that holds it into the speedo. The other end is pretty straight forward. I took mine out and lubed it and it is now fine.

Does you speedometer needle work?
If speedo works then it's not the cable but some internal mechanism that is seized or broken.
The trip gets its drive from the needle drive through a series of plastic gears.
They run on steel rods that can rust and lock up the gears.
-It might be the reset function or it spring.
-If it got dropped, the magnetic spindle may have become disengaged.
You may have to pull the whole thing apart to have a look inside.
If you take it apart, do it over a mat.
