1990 sp2-

OK- I am putting my SP2 up for sale again. I am open to offers which may be not much more then a buying a clean stock 851. I am wanting this bike to go to an fan of SP's.

I have owned it since '98- it has a clean NC title. It is all original and in beautiful condition. I would call it a very very clean rider.

This SP2 was imported into the US as a race bike (grey market way to get it into the US) and the owner painted the original bodywork black. I bought it in '98. The original bodywork is in primer and the bodywork currently on the bike is from another SP2 and a '91 851. The seat, nose, and sides have never been repainted so have the original decals- but the pieces had been in storage and would need paint blending for scratches from poor storage- owner had just thrown then on a shelf.

Aside from the bodywork the rest of the bike is stock and all original including the exhaust cans which are NOS and very rare. I ran an after market full GaCaMoto system when I rode it. This system along with the FIM SP4 chip I used with it are available.

It comes with original tool kit and owner's manual.

Damn. If I hadn't bought an 851 last month... I love this thing.

Too bad-- they are pretty rare in the US. I want it to go to someone who would be excited to be the next caretaker. I have put off repainting the bodywork for that reason even though the only buyers for these Sp bike are collectors who would want them perfect even if it would cost them a whole lot more money then I would be happy with. I am pretty anal about my bikes so I have a tendency to downplay them.

Glad you like the wood--- at the moment it has a LI battery so instead of wood I have stacks of foam blocks that are not as nearly as attractive.

Do you mean Barber with a capital B--- as in the track which is one of my favorites.

Absolutely no calls about the bike so far-- absolutely no market for SP2's in the US. I wonder how the sale of stock 851's are going.

I had zero interest when I tried to sell my 996 last year too.

I can't afford this one right now though. Well, that's a lie... I can afford the bike, it's the divorce that would ruin me. She would just not understand why I need another 851 when I haven't even ridden the one I bought a month ago yet.

Timing is everything- Was up in Michigan arranging my mother's move and the weather was pretty nice- you need to get on that bike.
