It seems my enthusiasm got the best of me when I found my '91 Strada. I saw a solo tail and subframe on eBay and placed a bid even before I had the bike. Only one other bidder at the end so I ended up getting it. Shipping cost a mint, but... in for a penny, in for a pound, right?
Then before it arrived I looked at the pics again, did some reasearch... and figured out it's for an early bike and has the welded on exhaust mounts = low mount exhaust. Oops, not gonna do it.
Long story short it showed up today and s in decent condition, but I wouldn't use it without modding it for a high mount exhaust. BUT, if I'm going to be modding a subframe it makes more sense to me to get a stock one off a '91 Strada and mod that for the solo tail. Everything else will still fit that way and I can get a high mount exhaust that fits a Strada. Or find a solo subframe for a '91?
Which leads me to my questions. Can someone confirm what year bike(s) this is a subframe is from ('89?)? Also, what should I ask for it. I'm 99% sure I'll be losing money on the deal but I'm just wondering how much.
FWIW judging by the part number the tail is an Airtech part. I have no idea what the number underneath is though. The gel coat has taken a few hits but overall it looks decent. I'm a little confused with a trim piece that was included, it's not like the stock part on the Strada and doesn't fit the fiberglass part.
