firefly_1965 wroteJust wanted to know if anyone can shed any light on a new problem i have encountered with my 888 strada.
Over the last few days i have noticed the idling being not very smooth when at lights etc. I do tend to ride in London, but this problem has just begun, been riding in town for months, even though the bike gets hot, it didnt affect the idling. Its been recently serviced.
A quick blip of the throttle will clear the problem for a few seconds, and once on the move its fine.
I did fit a pair of open race cans recently, and didnt rechip it as it seemed to be running fine, now flat spots or power loss.
Any ideas?............should i rechip it? change the plugs?
Hi,
Yes to both of your last questions.
Fitting open/free breathing pipes/cans 'WILL' effect your mixture settings.
Adjusting your trimmer will help, as will balancing the throttle bodies, airbleed screws (If you have them, only the later T8's have them) and setting up your TPS correctly.
Also fit a new pair of sparkplugs and gap them correctly, I use 1mm Gaps.
