hi folks, anyone recommend a good holiday spot, hotel caravan or camping that is a good base to see both factories/museums? Any other advise I'm planing on flying into Bologna and am prepared to hire a car but would prefer to use public transport if it's good(gotta have a glass of wine or two if needed) it's just me my wife and 10yr old car mad son going no strip joints ect! Any advice welcome
Cheers Marty!

The Ferrari factory is in easy reach of Bolgna, so you could just stay there?
Tric
ducati and Ferrari factories?
Hotel Del Borgo, Ducati owner clubs use it, across the road from the Ducati factory, bus stop into the centre outside. Very reasonable.

If your heading Maranello way go via Modena - there are some great museums there and you can get a tour of the Maserati factory as well. Last time I was there I did the Stanguellini museum (which I think is no longer open to the public) Maserati collection (the former factory collection) and a tour of the factory. I also did the Ferrari set up as well and was pretty underwhelmed by it although the view of the test track as you go over the bridge was great. I saw recently the Guzzi and MV factory museums looked pretty cool. And that the Alfa museum has reopened to the public maybe. The problem in Italy is always that the best collections are private and you need to book in advance (or use one of the local guide operators like I did which opened a heap of closed doors).
