I'm with Marvin, I think the '92 888SP4/SPS's were the prettiest of all the road going 851/888's.
But for me they both lacked a little bit in the "Get up and Go" department.

Yup agree the SP4 or SPS are the nicest looking closely followed by the SP3

I have an SP4 in Black and just can,t stop looking at it.

Taste is of course a very personal thing but I like the looks of the SP3 better than the SP4. To me the SP3 is rougher around the edges, more pure at heart so to say. SP4/SPS is a close second though.

To me the SP2 is lacking in looks relative to the SP3 because of the low exhaust and some other small stuff. Also like the SP5, but those forks...

You are quite correct Jacco, the SP3 has the beefed up newer crank cases and looks like the homologation bike it surely is, it has the correct deep side panels and rounded tank as the period race bike, the later SP4 b& SP5 were boutique bikes by comparison likely sold with marketing in mind rather than necessities to permit the race bikes to compete. I wish I could own an Sp3!!

Welcome to the forum. You have a nice variety of Ducatis- all are fun and hard to chose which to ride since each is a sweet ride.

My first Ducati back in 1985 was a 900 MHR- great in big sweeping turns.

I found out very quickly, that in short, sharp turns I would lift the rear wheel off of the ground because when you lean the MHR over too far the bodywork will make contact on the ground which levered up the rear end. Big fun the first time you experience this.

Hello once again, very glad to be back with everyone. At Marvin's suggestion I just updated my profile information and realized I have been with you folks for a very long time ( not near as long as some though ) and would just like to take the opportunity to thank all of the new friends I have made on this forum and the immeasurable amount of assistance and stewardship I have come to appreciate over the years.
Glad to see the Forum Mk.II version up and running and look forward to it's further growth in the future.
