Even a race bike can benefit from a reed valve. Most race bikes that I know about have no reed valve in the engine , a large breather box, and a reed valve at the very end of the trail (where you have that small filter). This effectively makes the crankcase volume larger, and at a negative pressure, making for a few more horse power.
