New track day bike!

Had the 748R for 4 or 5 seasons now. Bought a 848 cheap last autum and fixed it through the winter.
Suspension uppgrade, forged wheeels, QS, etc...
Will look nice side to my 888/1026!

i would expect it to be faster than the others, it'll be interesting to see how you find it.

I believe the bike is, problem is the rider... :-)
Anyway, the 748R hase done about 10000km on tracks the latest years with only 3 rockers replaced so I thought it was time to either totaly rebuild the engine or build a new (996 or so) or get a new bike.

Got the 848 for a very fair price but the costs to fix it for track was a bit more than I first thoght of...

This season have not been as I was hoping for.
Lots of rain (good with a rain bike...) so I have not been rirding the 848 much.
So far I´m still faster on the 748...
Biggest problem seem to be solved anyway. The CRC racing seat is much higher then stock. So after replacing the seat with another with standard height I´m now down on the same lap times as with the 748.
For a while I was tinking of selling the 848 but now it seem as we can be friends

Well...
Things does not allways turn out the way you think.

The 853 kit I bought was actually a 888 kit for 851...
So I bidded on a 1098 SF engine for a transplantation in to the 748. In the time I was offered a 999R for a good price and suddenly I know have two big project during the winter...

As dlivered:

Surprise inside (it did run with out any suspicious noise)
Ends up with a major rebuild...

Was it the 1098 or the 999R that had the failed main bearing?
I've heard of quite a 999's that have eaten their mains.

Its the 999 with bad bearings.
Quite a shoping list now:
New coating on the barrels, new pistons (Pistal) all new bearings, regrinding of crank, etc.
Valves and guides where ok.

I have not yet opened the 1098 engine but I have a set of new carillos and I ordered new Pistals and new main bearings for that engine also.
Hope rest of the family will be happy with cheap christmas gifts....

Getting there...
Never had a bike that had been so badly treated by previus owners before.
Every bearing except for the stearing bearings and the bearing in the clutch operator(?) plate is replaced.

Getting there slowly. I hope I like it on the track...
