After a break and yet another complete strip down I have decided that it will never be perfect so I better get a grip and put it together for the last time and get a MOT and ride the bugger 😁
Forks, wheels, brakes all done in final version with all the ex Steve Wynne parts (wheels, discs, brembo billets + the rear brembo billet and hanger + 23mm swinging set up)
Dash coming along with additional oil and generator lights set in the top of the ECU case
Starter motor is in place and I will use the standard starter switch so I know just where it is in case of a stall and quick restart
Only an on/off switch so I will have to take the main fuse out sometimes 🙁
Left kill switch cunningly is now the horn which I will need for a daylight MOT
Pressure switch fitted to front and rear brake lines again for the MOT
And at last....the exhaust system - man this was such a lot of work and I have fitted it up so many times and stripped it again just to get the rear aligned...The deep sump conversion is nothing but pain - great for endurance racing but bad for setting a termi spagatti system around. I have some heatproof tape stuff next to the sump, really just as it so close i thought it might vibrate and make a horrid noise + more heatproof tape around the rear header next to the brand new Ohlins as the termi system is just too tight to fit the carbon heat shield.
Carbon termi sleeves were a lot of work but worth it as they are a unique shape + I cleaned up and reused the original bands (sleeves were from Speedmade ages ago thanks they look great now)
Little corsa battery just fits a 14Ah Lithium and needs raising up to clear the fairing + Mark T I think mentioned that if one uses the carbon fairing stays the water hose to the top of the radiator will foul - Yep it does and will need a little dremmel work to the left Corsa fairing/s
For those that missed the earlier posts the Corsa is slightly compromised so I can actually use it - I fitted started gears/sprag/motor. SP4 road loom so I can have a starter motor + I have a second set of bodywork with endurance lights and I will wire these dip and main beam one fine day. The only other compromise at the moment is that I have road shift but its very tight with the corsa rearsets so I may need to fit race shift so the slipper clutch should help when I get it all wrong 😎
Oh I also have on the shelf but have deliberately removed the Corsa radiator (seems pointless taping part of it over if I am not racing) and the mag alternator cover as I just think its pointless risking it getting eaten away by the mag worms and I dont want to drain the system in between races
Right lets try and get some pics up - I wonder if the seat unit was Mr Foggys?
