Pompey great if its 22 ounce aged on the bone in a grill but not so good when traveling home and a rental car pulls out into you fully broadside when you are riding your favourite 888.... I went over the top and landed on my back on the other side stopping 30 odd feet from the hit. couldnt see my poor bike until after I walked back to the incident. Gutted. No bones broken but worse for the bike
gray.67 Not as if your red or loud enough to be seen or heard, gutted about your bike but glad your still in one piece.do you tihink these twats will ever look or learn ? π‘
griff851 Mate that no good. Hope your feeling better, that sort of airborne activity bloody hurts. How bad is the bike?
Mr.R Sorry to hear that mate, is the bike going to live again? Was it the one that you were going to sell? Steve R
Pompey had a look at the bike today. It will live again for sure... yes it was the one I was selling, must have been fate!
888sp4s Jasper wroteGutted for you mate. At least you are ok.I agree with Jasper, another downside is the search for parts.
Mr.R I'm pretty sure that Pomp's has a few spares tucked away and for what's he's left wanting? We on here who can will help him out I'm sure. When I had a very similar "whoopsie" a few years back* I was stunned with the help I received from the forum. π I even had a member from the States send me a much needed NOS part in it's original wrapping FOC. So I'd be more than happy to help out here, Pomp's please let me know if I can help you. Steve B has my home number. *My 851 was actually written off from under me by the insurance comp'. With a list that stretched to 4 pages/sides of a journo's jotting pad with only 4 parts still available via Ducati. But only a week later with help from fellow forum members I was riding it again, all be it a slightly battered/fairing less version of what had gone before... Less than a year later after fully repairing it, it looked better than it had before the accident. IMO these things are sent to try us, so it's up to us to overcome any difficulties, with a little help from our friends. Steve R
Jammin851 I'm sorry to hear about your unfortunate incident. Knowing you're well makes it better, but I think I'd still be crushed by the loss. Good Luck on your rebuild.
Pompey Many thanks guys, I shall keep you all posted... always a silver lining to these things and your thoughts are one of themπ
TipsyNipper Mate, sorry to hear about the "off". Main thing is you are OK. I know what it feels like wwhen you drop/trash a Duc. All the idiots on the road drive cars it seems to me. I have a few spares if you need anything I can help with. All the best Pat
