Got a picture or 2? Never heard about anything like that.

no.
but it's very funny that you think it might be a special edition.
special only in the mind of the person who paid money to make it that way. hope you got it cheap.

It's just that I saw a cagiva paint like it back about 15 years ago. Will pick it up on Saturday . It needs to be tidied up so I want put it back to original once I've got the chassis number I will be able to track it's history ! And it was cheap so I jumped at it.

If it was cheep enough as you say, its was worth it.
Get a pro paint job, rebuild and you've got an SP4 !
No real drama.
Just looked again, were are the forks ?
Ash man
Forks are with the motor! ( fork seals) bike sat for a number of years before the chap I got it off!! And he had it 2 years!

Still like to no what's with the mickey on it? It's cleared over. Some has done a good job it. But it still needs a repaint due to a low side at some point in its life! Not much damage . Light scratches

It looks like it has a steel dual seat sub frame and seat, not the alloy single seat frame and one piece tail.

Look forward to seeing the build...Congrats on your purchase..!.
Be interesting to find any history on the albino paintwork and number?

Looks like a Strada from the bodywork, steel subframe, rear seat. Where the SP4 plate has come from is anybody,s guess. Showa forks will be easy to find but if you want the Ohlins ones they will be difficult to find. Once you have the chassis number good luck with the identification, especially if you contact Ducati direct.
It seems like a bitsa so build it to what you want and don,t worry about modifying it.

I believe that was Disney's very rare Mickey Mouse edition! 😝

first glance it is a strada with an SP4 plate stuck on. But, I had a 999 s which the factory put a strada rear end for me for the misses to jump on the back so its not impossible that the rest of the bike is genuine Sp4, just highly unlikely. Either way, if it was sensible money then who cares. On the other hand if your name is Mickey and you are weird enough to paint it white with your name on the seat and not the screen then you may be weird enough to slap a strada rear end on it!

Looks like a fun project for sure....enjoy it and as it was mentioned before, have it painted the color you want and ride it! Congrats!
