Tony IOM SP4's are like buses, you wait ages for one to come along, then two appear at the same time! I'm interested in gauging the collective opinions of the forum as to which SP you prefer not that either are for sale. Cheers Tony
Tony IOM 50+ page views and not a single response...? I was going to offload the non-standard & carbon parts on mine because people keep harping on about originality but it clearly matters not one iota.
Mr.R Hi Tony, I've probably looked at that pic' around a dozen times now. π So after your prompting here goes... There both good used examples of the prettiest 8**SP's, neither of them are as they left the factory, but the one on the left is closest. Any 851/888 enthusiast would be lucky to own either of them. As I know the history of your one (the one on the right) it would be the one that I'd plumb for. Because IMO it has the better motor, correct for the period SP(4)S spec Termignoni carbon cans/link pipes, it's recently been rebuilt/upgraded by someone who knows what he's doing, upgraded injection system with green's and a Power Commander already installed. Having said that I'd lose the dark wind screen and wouldn't be bothered (even though it's a period mod') if it didn't have the fully floating rear caliper. Others on here would I'm sure plumb for the easier to return to completely standard example. If you decide to sell off the cans/link pipes? Please give me a shout before they go on general release mate but... As I'm sure Jafa on here will confirm finding OEM high level SP cans/link pipes is like looking for a unicorn. Steve R
Tony IOM Thanks Stafford and Steve for your comments - you win a perpetual ticket to Ago's Leapπ I did the sum total of 320 miles since last Manx Grand Prix and I'm reviewing my ownership of it. Cheers
Mr.R Hi Tony, I can understand where you're coming from here, despite having the Worlds best race track literally on your own doorstop, the Island isn't that big a place and the roads must become a bit samey over the years? Living in the county with the most miles of roads in the UK that are empty out of the holiday season's, I find my local ones (even though they're very good for bikes) a bit boring now, so look forward to venturing farther afield when cash allows. A trip up to visit Steve B is over 130 miles each way and it's more miles for me to get to Liverpool for the ferry to the Island, then you've covered since the Manx. Steve R
Jafa Mr.R wroteAs I'm sure Jafa on here will confirm finding OEM high level SP cans/link pipes is like looking for a unicorn.Dead right. Even finding correct 50mm Termi's is impossible. Trying to find anything 50mm that is in decent condition seems impossible.
