Help needed

I have now located a new rear disc and carrier for my Strada and have just found out what had caused the disc failure.

When the rear tyre was being replaced the fitter did not replace the spacer bush that is located between the calliper hanger and the rear wheel bearing.

This part is no longer available from Ducati and I require one urgently.

This part is common to both Strada and Kit bikes.

Please can some one pull their rear axle pin and remove this spacer bush.

Please can you photo graph and take all dimensions so as I can get a new one manufactured.

Not sure if they are all the same but as my bike (1989 Strada) is stripped down at the moment I have just been in the garage to take a look. On mine I have a spacer on the sprocket side but on the brake side there is only the carrier for the caliper which seems to be designed to also function as a spacer for the bearing. I am now wondering if I have also mislaid a spacer - the bike has been apart for longer than intended and I can not remember how it fitted. Will need to look for some old photos!

My '94 strada has no spacer on the brake side only the brake carrier. This is the non floating carrier, my '94 Superlight has the floating underslung brake carrier and it has no additional spacer either. I would imagine that having an additional spacer would be a a royal PITA when refitting the wheel. Are you sure there was ever one there? have you got a parts diagram showing it?

Hi David the whole rear wheel setup is different on the tricolour,s i suspect your best bet is to pull up some pictures in the files section, see the spacer shape and mock something up and then make one in alloy, unless a kind tric owner will pull the back wheel and measure up.

width 23mm
diameter at the brake carrier side 32mm
diameter at the swingarm side 40mm
