Please ID this bike

Hi from New Zealand.
This bike apparently came out of Itally into Japan in 1996 and then was imported to New Zealand.

I have been lead to believe there are a few 'Parts Bin Specials' around.

For those of you who are more knowledgeable... could you please tell me what this is.
Year and model?
Correct seat unit?
851 or 888 engine?
Complete original bike or a mock up of parts?

Looks pretty spot on as a 1992 851 Strada. My 1992 Strada has a vin of ZDM1HB6P4NB003352.

It's a '92 851 Strada, how "picky" do you want me to be?
I'll answer anyway...
It shouldn't have the large DUCATI and AGIP decals on the fairing, the front carbon mudguard is an aftermarket part (possibly a genuine 851/888SP part) and the rear seat pad's missing it's red plastic cover.
Can't tell you how big the motor is, but if the engine # starts ZDM851S3--------- it's probably still 851cc's unless it's had some engine work, +2mm barrels and pistons for 888cc was a common upgrade.
Other than that it looks a tidy/nice bike.

I have one just like it and actually like the looks of the "DUCATI" on the side. Nice looking bike!

In essence a Strada is a 2 seater and an SP (Sport Production) is a single seater (Monoposto) made for homologation in the Superbike series.

The SP is more expensive and has special parts like Ohlins suspension, Brembo brakes, Termignoni exhaust, injection and some engine parts.

TBH I couldn't be arsed to answer the question because it's been covered soooooooooooo many times on here but...
I think "Pounded to death many times" put's it in a nutshell, all the info' like that is easily available from many sources.

Well down chap you got the info' into about as few words possible, although some Strada's were single seaters.
Strada really means road/street spec, you've already explained what SP means.
