If you want to resleeve the mufflers in carbon, try your local boat yard. They may have carbon tube in the correct diameter. They use it for boat masts.

Yep - PJ engineering was going to be my first call, thanks, but will need to open them up first to confirm the correct sizing. That job will need to wait a few weeks though.

Interesting tip on the boat yard though, I know plenty of fowk with an interest in such things, so I could probably scare up a contact there.

Just been out for a run with the new braided brake lines on the front. *much* improved (unsurprisingly). It still feels a little vague, but then it's probably unfair to compare it to my SP5/AP Lockheed setup.

It really feels like a fun bike, despite its' age. Over winter, I'm going to get the side panels tidied up and I've got a set of the original vitaloni mickey mouse mirrors, though one of those need some careful repair to the mount bracket. More on that later.

If I've got time, I'll do the exhaust thing. Right now though, I've just put my 250 bevel back on the bench. I'm not happy at how heavy the clutch is. There must be something wrong, probably cable routing, or clutch setup.

After taking a day off work, I've managed to get this project finally finished, and inbetween snow showers, took a couple of decent photos.

Although the last photos looked good - in the flesh, the side panels were a bit shocking. Over the winter, I gave the side panels to a local painter to refinish (along with some decals from The Image Works), they now look lovely - I also wasn't happy with the finish on the alternator side engine casing, so pulled that and repainted again.

I also finished repairing the original mickey-mouse vitaloni mirrors, and was able to fit them.
