It's been a while ....

Been a while since been on the forum (to post anyway) ...all pretty quiet on the 851/888 front - which is a good thing i.e. nothing has went wrong with them!

So thought I would show what I have been up to - cafe is now its final incarnation, SS based and nearing completion of dry build (lots of making brackets, welding, lathe work etc etc).

Other is still in mock up - real bitsa - monster frame, 1000DS engine, multistrada rear end, st shock, 916 wheels, aprilia showa forks! Going for the black/carbon look on this one.

ST/888 hydrid now at the back of the queue and still in boxes!

Hi Johnny,

Both projects looking very nice/trick well down chap, although personally the Orange frame/rear wheel looks at bit too KTM for me.
You missed possibly the best year weather wise at the TT this year in living memory, with Micheal Dunlop stepping up a gear, he was really on it forcing John McGuiness to up his game for the final lap of the Superbike* and all of the Senior.

*Finishing on the podium even after a 30 sec' time penalty and setting a class lap record, was pretty impressive...Really laying down a marker for the coming Friday.**
Not bad for a fat 41 year old Northern lad who trains on beer, pies and chips!
Full marks to Michael Dunlop for losing all that weight though, it made a BIG difference this year.
Which obviously showed by his results, the poor lad was in tears at the end of the Senior.
I can't fault a lad who wears his heart on his sleeve and gives it 110%.
But who wouldn't trade a Supersport win or two for a Senior win?

**Sitting in TonyIOM's front garden before the start I predicted the Senior result top 3 perfectly.
I should have placed a bet with PADDY POWER. 😏

Cheers lads, as you say Pompey trying to keep to the café ethos everything down to the minimum. Even dumping the org ignition switch too big and bulky! Although all the electrics need to be fitted under the tank next job. Anybody notice the most exclusive part on it?

God no Steve! all the parts are still in the colour they came in (including hideous 620 monster frame and ex-race bike 916 wheels!). Café will be red frame/red body work with white stripe and all alloy polished to buggery!, monster will be red frame/wheels, all carbon (tank carbon wrapped) with red stripe, black engine and all alloy black anodised (hence prilia forks).

TT looked great this year school holidays mean never get over these days and havn't been since mid 90's when did pit crew for some of the guys raced with. Was looking at getting over to the Manx this year (classic looks good) but again hols don't suit.
