With only a few days to go the 851/916cc was running like clockwork with new lightweight wheels, Maxton(isd) FG9050's, Lighter side stand bracket, (Thanks Marvin) "El Cheapo" Laverda electronic CEV rev counter, Lightened RRR Chrome Moly clip ons and a sack full of lighter parts UNTIL...
The F'kin starter sprag clutch gave up the ghost, I've ordered what I can and a fellow DOCGB member is fast tracking a spare bearing down to me, I've dug through my stash and come up with some used spares that might do the job, so I'm waiting on the post etc to see what else arrives...
It's been a Bank Hoilday Weekend so every where's shut, but I did manage to get through to some dealers before they closed on Saturday.
I'm working everyday until late Thursday evening and I'm on the boat 400+ miles away late Friday night/early Saturday morning.
Wish me luck lads as "Last Minuet Steve" has struck again.
On the upside I did manage to get out last Saturday for a 65 mile blast, the bike with the latest mods was a revelation/a complete hoot to ride, without the fairing fitted I took it for a blast down my favourite fast sweeping road and was somewhat stunned to look down at the speedo to see it was clicking well past 150 mph, on what I thought was just a fast canter, as I hadn't even banged the throttle against the stop in any gear 😎
Still I was still confident enough that I'll get it sorted, to parcel up my luggage tonight ready for the post in the morning.

Good luck Steve, we hope to see you on the boat Saturday.
(hopefully just fairings to refit to mine!)
Power tends to corrupt and absolute power without a starter sprag is no use at all..

Bad luck Stevie
I have ever confidence that you will get it back together
See you Friday mate

Go hard. Little bit of pressure is good for the soul.
Mr.R
Thanks lads,
I got the parts late Wednesday evening (I got home from work at 9.30pm) and had the motor running by 9.30pm on Thursday.*
Up early Friday morning, topped up the fluids, popped on the fairing and pumped up the tyres, setting off for the Island just before lunchtime.
10 days of sunshine, great racing and 1200+ miles of trouble free starting/running. 😎
*I had to work on Thursday afternoon and had my little girls for their tea time visit until 7.30pm.

P.S. If there is a God he/she must be a TT fan. 😁
The perfect weather that's hung over most of the UK for almost the last fortnight, is due to break up into rain by late evening today.
