The rate the Ducati are going, they might as well use these motors!! 😝

I had a chance to buy a Ducati compressor once, it was from the 60's, not sure why I wanted it maybe because it had Ducati on it...

Around 20 years ago now a drinking mate in my local riverside pub in East London, asked if I'd take a look at his narrow boat's motor as although it ran fine he'd got no drive to the prop?
Thinking it's would be something simple like a woodruff key broken etc, I hopped over the tow path railings onto his boat and lifted the engine trap...
Imagine my surprise when I found a single cylinder Ducati diesel motor hiding in there! 😎

A machinist I know said he did some work when he lived in Rhodesia on a tree cutting machine that was powered by a Ducati single. At least they will have something to fall back on if racing ever flops. Pengali combined harvester is probably on the drawing board as I type. 😁

Whilst at the WDW2000 I took a lovely photo of a Laverda Combine Harvester in a field not far from the Misano circuit, just to take home and take the piss at the local IMOC/Italian Bike meet. 😉
...and yes it was painted bright orange...
