oil filter gauze

changing oil and filter, thought would clean fiter gauze, whats the slot head screw below for,(blanking hole)? does this need to be removed first? thanks.

The screw is in fact & oil galley plug, Ducati drilled the oil galley way, for the oil uptake & plugged it with that screw,later models 2 & 4 valvers have align heads & or hex heads.No need to remove it.The main drain plug & filter & screened gauze is all that's necessary.

thanks replies,yep thought a blanking plug, looked like a mare to remove anyway with the slot head! all out and cleaned.
