KIT 851 and speedometer?

Any other KIT owners here who have a solution for the lack of speedometer on the bike? In the process of getting mine ready for the road and was wondering what others have done to solve this. I was planning on going down the magnetic pickup cycle speedo route as I don't want to change the original clock cluster but open to suggestions and opinions 😄

I think the cycle speedo route's OK I've been using them for years, they work alright* for a while but...
I've never had one last more than around 4,000 miles, wether they be cheap as chips £5-6 versions or top of the range £20-30 worth.
They might have gone up a lot as it is some time since I last bought one?

*In fact they're extremely accurate, even the cheap ones have several very handy functions**, it's just that all year round/bad weather ridding and vibration seem to see them off quite quickly.

** Not sure if the maximum speed attained function would impress the Police. 😯

If you are not bothered about 100% originality simply fit the standard 851 dash (tric Strada also) as it will bolt straight in with a standard white faced speedo

How's th new speeo triggered Guy? Is it all electronic or does it need a new sourc feed of some kind?

Its the same mechanical drive that is fitted to the Strada Marvic mag wheel.

The same setup as the later wheel take off, small pressed steel plate and a conventional speedo drive. If your front wheel has no drive there must be a spacer in its place. I suspect its the same drive + steel insert that is fitted to the wheel on the same age 750/900s

That'd be cool Guy - let's leave it until it's warmer and dry though, I'm too old now to force myself to be an all weather rider :-)
