And I thought the Roche / Falappa bike was something special!

I don't know if it is the same team but the Power House team also raced in Suzuka with a pair of TT2's.
The Sazale racing team entered the 1990 8H of Suzuka race with two very special 851's.

The nr 80 bike with Massimo Broccoli / Stefano Karakki crashed with a DNF as result. Their teammates on the nr88 bike Stefano Pen'neze / Francesco Monaco failed to qualify for the race.

I can't see that being the case as the hose coming off the breather tower is the same size as the standard hose fitted to the latter shaped road tanks etc.
The quick fill dump tanks used on Endurance racers usually have an inlet for the fuel and an outlet for the escaping air, with the dump tank plunged into both orifices and removed when fuel starts to flow up the outlet tube.

They may have had to build it that way because the sides of the alloy tank curve in to meet the frame, whereas the carbon one is slightly wider there, to allow for 'flats' that accommodate the QR's, placing them outside the frame.

Sazale RT also raced the Suzuka 8H in 1989! The bike was called Ducati 851 Special Endurance. The rider line-up saw quite impressive: Massimo Broccoli, Francesco Monaco, Piergiorgio Bontempi and Stefano Pennese. Team chief was Oliviero Cruciani.

I noticed that Mark, is yours tucked just inside the top of the LH fairing by the riders knee?
I've seen it placed there on some Corse's.

I saw that, very cool. I'm surprised the bike doesn't have any cool quick change bits for the rear wheel. But the front fender is setup so you can swing away the forks with the calipers still mounted.

So what forks are those?

The tank breather looks like the same mounted to GSXRs and RC30s of the time, my RC has the same one, maybe it was some sort of tech requirement.

I think as the team was a Japanese outfit the tank was probably made by the same people who made the RC30 items, can't seeing it being a techie thing as the breather tube still has an inline one way breather valve in it.

I have not seen the damping adjuster reservoir mounted up in the left hand fairing-- love to see a picture. I wonder if this is the location other endurance teams mounted their adjuster. I assume that for endurance racing compression damping must change over time for the teams to mount them so the rider could make changes on the fly.

Both of my '93's have the damping adjuster on the left side mounted vertical in the rear with the knob protruding below the base of the oil breather box. This was a common factory practice.

The spring preload adjuster on my bikes are mounted on the right side mounted to the inside of the rear master cylinder. I believe the '94's had the preload adjuster on the left side - Phil and Scott probably could give us a better visual then I can.

Yup-- my bad- on second look it does indeed looks like a pre-load adjuster. I did not know they had them that early- I started seeing them in '93 on the 888 Corse's.

I'm quite convinced that the preload adjuster knob didn't fit the F.1 model.
I suppose that the rear shock absober has been later upgraded by the owner.
Then, I'm less convinced about TT generations ...

On the Corsa 94, the adjuster knob is located on the left, alongside the frame, fixed with a carbon bracket . (thanks to Peter, coz mine was broken ...)

MarK, I would appreciate to get a close view of this knob on your bikes.
I've got several pics of racing bikes with the same location, but ignore how it's fixed on the frame.
My racing docs of the appropriate model year doesn't show me the correct sock absorber ... Thanks

The Ohlins on the 750F1 I posted is aftermarket (I fitted it), the bike originally came with a Marzocchi.
