Finally got the update of the Fogarty rep finished just in time for the NW200 and the summer weather here!
This included;
- front Marchesini
- carbon X air intakes
- carbon 5 piece airbox (with Pipercross filters)
- corse dash with digital speedo (cluster)
- later type (748 sps) m/cylinders with reservoirs on top yoke
- Ohlins steering damper
- alloy expansion tank
- carbon undertray
- underslung rear calliper
Unfortunately the alloy tank was not back from the painters in time to fit all the internals but should be ready in a few weeks so fitted the steel one.
Some observations;
- fitting the corse intakes/dash is a struggle to get clearances without radial m/cylinders and retaining the road loom - took a bloody age
- there is quite a reduction in the steering lock with the carbon intakes not enough to make it unrideable on the road but you have to be very aware of it (reminds me of the lock on an old TZ 350 I had)
- the later front brake m/cylinder is a VAST improvement over the older one, transforming the brakes to a two finger job, had considered billet callipers but TBH the brakes are more than enough with this setup
- induction roar from the airbox/filter set up is f**king amazing without earplugs and when the cams open up - actually hurts your ears !!
- with this airbox/filter setup she runs as sweet as a nut, and on the old bum dyno the performance is certainly up on the std airbox may stick her on a mates dyno but TBH its not far off
Cheers to all who have helped with sourcing parts/advice you know who you are
Now time to start the ST/851 hybrid !!
Johnny
