corsachili I've been spending some time loving on my 851 lately, returning her to stock trim. I replaced the later style billet Brembo front calipers with the stock "Gold" units, have sourced an original front fender to replace the carbon fiber one, and have cleaned up some of the cosmetic inaccuracies that a previous owner had added. I'm looking for the small oval sticker than Ducati installed on the windscreen which had the laurels and celebrated their World Superbike victories. I know FbF used to sell them but I don't see them on their website any more. Does anyone know of a source for these somewhere in North America? Ciao! -tj in los gatos
oldrider57 The decal you're looking for is available on Ebay. Guy in England (i think) has these available. Bought one for the 91' Biposto i had also resurrected awhile back. Didn't think the 91's came with the gold Brembos. Or at least mine doesn't have gold units...Anyone out there in 851-land know? Mine is an absolute charm to ride. About as good of a chassis as you'll likely run across. Pat
corsachili Pat, You're right about the calipers. When I wrote it I remembered that 851s had the black Brembo calipers so I'll be looking for a set of those as well. It's interesting comparing the handling of the 851 to my 916. I've owned the 916 since nearly new (in 1996) and have lots of miles, including race and track miles on her, so I still feel more at home in her saddle than the 851, but I'm getting more comfortable on the 851 all the time. I just need to ride her more. = ) Ciao! -tj in los gatos
