After looking and looking here and there I've finally bought one of my youth's icons: a 1991 851. Yes I wanted to have an SP· but it was financially difficut and as far as I'm quite a confident DIY mechanic, I finally decided to merge an 851 '91 (prefered) or '92 with an ST4S engine.
Well, amazingly enough some week ago the planets aligned for my and I found a very nice 851 (presented on this forun, from ARAL motorservice in the Netherlands) and a complete ST4S engine in France for very little money (really cheap, complete, and in very good condition. The bike looks really great, starts at first attemps and idles perfectly with no strange sound at all. Look like it was a really good affair and she's now a perfect company for my Paso 750 '88, my F1 750 '86, and my MTS 1000 '04. I intend to make a good and reliable street machine matching my mates state-of-the-art 4 valve ducatis (998, 1098, STF...) but in an iconic and classic style...
Now she sits in my garage waiting for the bureaucracy delays and problems to make her street legal in my country.
For all of you, now my new pride and joy on the trailer just as received from transport:
REally a good deal, specially considering that I wanted to make her monoposto and high level muffler equipped....
