stafford Just found that the side stand switch has the plunger stuck up the pipe and is buggered. Anyone have a spare? Ta Stafford
Mr.R I've probably got one tucked away somewhere but my advice would be to bin the F'cker. Once it's in the bin it can't f'ck up or tell anymore lies, it's not like it's actually needed is it? Bikes ran fine without them for many years before some twat thought they were neended. Steve R
guy851 Hmmm, Tricky this one and a bit like race or road shift and with multiple bikes I must say caution is a good word. I actually fitted an led on the sidestand on my tricolore as I had disabled the useless auto destruct functon. The light was great for purpose but a bit disco stylee at speed when the sidestand started to bounce a little/lot Why did I fit this? A long time ago ... in the dim and distant 1977 ish a good friend and his passenger left the small C road on a bend and went over a bridge, one in the trees and one in the river after a sidestand moment Cause ...... Yes the sidestand launched the 900ss over the side and as it was ages ago we were allowed to examine the debris RIP both Guy851
Claire4dukes After doing a crankcase repair and putting the side stand back on the light now comes on with the pin in and the side stand up but goes out with the stand down and the pin out - go figure I'm now in Mr R's camp. Cheers for now Nigel (& Claire)
Jack888 What exactly does the stand switch do? is it just linked to a light or cut the ignition when put into gear if its down??
Claire4dukes Only a warning light on earlier model Ducati. It all started getting fancier later on with cut out switches linked to the ignition.
