HI GUYS

please look at this listing it is not mine and tell me what you think a lot of info is wrong , looks like a Jap import to me and as far as I know the Japs were the only ones too put a built plate on the rear tail section

Tricolore questions

had a quick look at the pictures,

Indicators are all Strada as are the wheels, they look like standard 16" ones to me. Rear shock non standard and I am not sure if the fork sliders have been changed to fit later brakes? and why dump the fantastic full floaters front and rear when keeping the original mag/alloy marvics. No cut away in the fairing to allow the air duct to run over the steering damper on the left.
And finally a very strange looking swinging arm indeed. The Kit braced swinging arm utilises flat end caps for the adjusters, not the angled ones that are on all the non braced swinging arms...like you see in the picture. Looks like a modified standard Strada swinging arm. Oh and the hangers for the inverted cone cans is wrong..

Interesting bike.
It has forks from a 90 851 (hence the 320mm rotors) and the wheels are 17" Superlight pieces. The swingarm is a modified Strada. Take a look at the front brakes. Very nice Brembo GP2 billet calipers and early billet radial clutch and brake master cylinders.
Maybe not original, but has a lot of nice parts.

swing arm looks like St4s to me with bracing , yeh it has some good bits on it but he is selling it off as a kit version the only one in OZ he claims and plainly has a go a me in the process the poor guy

this guy is stretching the truth somewhat with this 851. He says:

NOTE THE SBK PARTS clutch cover ,rear susp support and pipes (SBK) This Bike Must be ,The Best Real , factory Assembled Tri Color in Australia

This is a Genuine factory 851 with the Factory build no. on the rear seat

The bike has been kept in VGC, is also in good running condition and has only 8000 KMS

The brakes have been uprated to Brembo GP's & it has a carbon front guard.

I have a few parts that go with the bike including the original front guard

This bike is Very, Very rare and carries a superbike kit Number , build 320.

according to" The Book", Stradas finished at 304

this is 320 Vin No and build plate number, NOTE- This is Not a dealer assembled bike !

If you look at the front cowl you can see a big M on it. This is the logo for the Tokyo Ducati importer, MURAYAMA. The so called Factory build number on the rear seat is a badge that Murayama had cast for all Ducatis around that time and carried the frame number for that bike (not the complete model number but the part that identifies each individual one). The previous owner has upgraded the bike with some tasty parts (as all Japanese Ducati owners do) but that so called number does not make the bike any more special.
This bike was bought on Japanese Yahoo (like Ebay) one month ago; I watched it go off myself. Very nice and good luck to the bloke selling it but I think everyone should be aware it is nothing out of the ordinary
