Two of my better eBay finds came in recently:
First is a brand new, never been painted or fitted, right hand side fairing. This will replace the crash damaged one that had been poorly repaired and painted with a fluffy roller. The new one is the wrong part number according to the parts book ( and it was made in 1992 anyway ), but apart from the part number it is identical to the one that was on the bike, which incidentally isn't the correct part number according to the parts book either!!!
Second item in was a 851 SP '91 owners manual. It was advertised as used ( obviously, who'd have a new one after all these years? ), and there was a bit of a bidding war close to closing time, but eventually I got it, although it wasn't cheap!!! When it turned up, boy was it worth it!!! It is as close to brand new as you'll ever hope to get. It is totally unmarked, doesn't look like the pages have ever been opened and read because the spine in not creased in the slightest, and best of all it has the wiring diagram glued onto the inside of the back cover as they originally came. I think I may have been the first person to ever open the wiring diagram and look at it. To say I'm absolutely stoked with it is an understatement.
I'm still waiting for a pile of other bits to arrive, and unless they are waiting at the Post Office tomorrow morning I'll have to wait until the end of next month when I get back from work to get those.
