I think my hole may be too big!

What goes between the big hole and the filler?

You have a 1991+ tank there, I believe that early non-injected belt driven SS models had the right type of fuel lock and body for your tank.

Hi Tony

There is a large threaded alloy ring that secures to the hole with grub screws (part # 14 & 15 on the parts dia) and the filler then screws in to it. Although this parts dia is from the later '92 bike it is the same, there seems to have been 2 851 alloy tanks one like yours and one that used the same sort of mount as the older Ducatis (my 750 Sport has this type), I have the same type of alloy tank as yourself.

The alloy ring is the same as lots of other Ducati's - SS, ST, MON etc so should be pretty easy to pick up.

I got told my distant rellies are too.

then someone once told me that Cork was just where everybody left Ireland from...

and in the (irish) mists of time that becomes where every IS from.

Could be Tony, as customhead said Cobh in County Cork was the major port for Irish emigration with over 2.5 million leaving for Aus and the states - however a lot of those on their way down under were on convict ships!!

I'm from the other end of Ireland, but Cork is a nice place.
