Finally after 2 months I got to go out and about in the mountains again today. A bit windy, but nice cool air and the bike was on song. The favorite part of the Mt Mea was hinderd at first, by some guy on big Jap sports bike with his fat arsed woman on the back, but it paled into insignificance due to 2 sets of road work traffic lights. We were waved through on the second set by 3 guys on big sports jap bikes that may have been intimidated by the Richards GT1000's Tergi's and my burbling while waiting for green I feel. Mr and mrs Fat arse shot off infront followed by the GT then me. Then the overtaking lane appeared after a tight lefthander. 2nd gear 5k and give it a handfull. I rolled nicely into position, the bike came on line at 6k and smoothly the front went all light. SPA Tacho lit up like a christmas tree. Into 3rd, more christmas lights and gone. Wheel firms up, down into second for the tight well cambered twisties, punctuated by chrismas lights in 3rd on the little straights, as you climb up the mountain. Got to the top and no takers in the mirror. So shot across the ridge at 150-180kph, Bloody brillient. Pity about the gusting to 30kph winds, gave me little heart starters, but they're good for the soul.
Amazing how just a little bit of magic can make a whole day. God damn love these bikes.
