I'd acquired a Ducati 50mm exhaust system -minus cans for my 888 some time ago. Dont think the seller knew what it was as I got it for a song. This has sat on the garage shelf whilst I watched ebay and other places for some reasonably priced 50mm cans. So thanks to Henk for finding me the these 😄 .
So just spent some time fitting this lot to my Strada.
I had thought the headers were going to be the gripey bit but apart from needing to use a long extention and wobble joint (always a pain when they are loose) the old ones came off fairly easy and the 50mm headers went on similar, once I worked out which way to wiggle the rear header pipe to get it out of the swingarm and frame, ie drop in into the swingarm hole whilst rotating anti clockwise (from top) and it then slip out under the LHS rear subframe behind the footrest.
But the biggest pain was fitting the cans and link pipes. The pipes to headers was more than an interference fit (ie feking tight) and needed some heating of the link pipes (plus some gentle slotting) to get these on to the 50mm headers and then they were still fekking tight so alligment adjustment was difficult.
Once I managed to get these on fitting the cans and hangers was after this easy though again allingment wasnt ideal and must tweaking needed.
After musch ferkiling one can still sits slightly higher (left) than the other but it would seem to be tied to the exhaust header outlet postion which isnt that moveable.
The Headers are the "std" SP issue cruciform ones and the cans are reportedly Gia co moto ones . Pic attached .
Its not as loud as I thought it would be but it seems to run nice, the bike already had a chip for open airbox and straight through low levels and it seems to be not far off, I'd get it on a dyno but the local one has closed :/ .
