Hi.

I have just bought an 851 Tricolore, but with no owner's manual. 😳
Can someone give me help about engine start procedure at low temperature?
And, more important, can someone tell me how and/or where I can find a copy of the owner's manual?

Push start button, then hold throttle open at about 2000rpm until it reaches over 50 degrees, with a bit of luck it might idle. If not you may have to wait until 60-65. A painful business, I usually take the opportunity to have a smoke. Do not rev the crap out of it to get it to warm up, or the result will be as shown in the pic. Sorry can't help with the owners manual.

There is one on e-bay in UK at the moment.It says a kit version but will be much the same as a strada,depending on which one you have.Actually which one do you have?????.As Griff said it will take a couple of minutes to warm up.You will get used to it especially if you put some nice mufflers on it like the factory kit ones.Your neighbours will love you on those early morning rides.You could start it for a minute then take it easy until the temp is up.

Hi and congratulations on your purchase, can we see some pictures?

I posted a manual for the Kit model on the site a while ago so you can download from here.

Starting should be easy if everything is set up properly. Dont touch the throttle until she fires is the golden rule and then warm her up at 2000 as mentioned. Tickover is a but lumpy on these early bikes but should be fine once warm.

Hi,
My bikes not a Tricolore but I've fitted a 916 throttle and cable, it has a fast idle button.
In cold weather I hit the starter button, when she fires up I then push the fast idle button, the bike then idles at around 2,000rpm.
As Griff says I then have a smoke, put on my jacket, helmet and gloves, by which time the motors up around the 80c mark.
If the bike revs rise while it's warming up, I just push the throttle closed which shuts off the fast idle button.
Simple.
I picked up the throttle on e-bay for £20.
Only an expert/anorak would notice that it's not the original part.
I have to thank Brad Black for this tip, he wrote it up on the Moto One note book web site.

Firebird: I found the workshop manual on DUC.NL, I'm looking for the "owner's" one. My bike is a Strada.
Guy: I will post photos as soon I find my digital camera (someone at home forgot where it is).
Steve, thanks: I have found a 916 throttle with fast idle on Ebay and I'm waiting the end of the auction.

It might be a stupid question, but can anyone tell me if this "Fast Idle button" is present on a race-throttle ??
