My lovely daughter came three years ago home, and told us she had plans to get her moped license. We we're in shock..........no scooter.....But she stayed with her plan. So I mentioned my plan. When you go for you're scooterlincense, I'll get my motorcycle lincense. My first bike was the 750 Supersport. I loved the torque and the sound. For my 50 birthday I wanted to give myself a nice present...........a sporty Duc with a 2 valve powerplant. So I bought myself a 851 without engine and from a 900SupSp the engine, carbs, and wiring, from a 900Monster the exhaustheaders. And started in Februari. At the moment I'm figuring out how to to get the Mikuni's installed without leaking fuel.............

Hi there dulpie, are you going to run the standard carbs on the engine?

I am currently working on a carbon airbox for the 900ss motor as per standard, I also make the one-piece airbox for the 888 racers, I should be able to marry the two together...pm me if you are interested.

At the moment I won't change my set up with the K&N pod filters.

The carb 900 2 valve engines really like 41 FCR Keihin carbs. I have a pair on my 97 900sp, and the 41 Keihins made a huge difference in power. I also have 11:1 comp pistons that I installed to add some more power as well. A 39or 40 tooth rear sprocket also makes the engine feel happier.

I went to put some Mikuni 900ss carbs on a 1988 750 sport the other day and they overflowed just using a drip feed. I am using the 900ss manifold so as far as I can tell the float position is unchanged.

Any idea why they should be overflowing if the float pin ISNT sticking?

Haven't you connect the delevery and return fuel lines viceversa?

Noticed on my bike, one carb is overflowing. I know what to do today.......

Update

Five months later. Since July every now and then I'm riding my bike. "Lost" a lot of time with fixing the exhaust. Headers are Monster 900 ones. Pipes are Sil Moto. Some how the pipes came lower then expected. The second bent (downwards) is more downwards when I look at pictures of 851 with high mounted pipes. Bought me an original set of Superlight pipes. Also not as high as what I see at other bikes. I rewelded the C-bends to the X-pice, more upwards. The result is not as I wanted, but acceptable.

Coming autumn/winter periode I'll take my bike apart, have to weld an new cross member in de frame. I had to take the original out, for the carbs.

Get the bike on five spoke Aprilia rims,
Get an Koso RX2N dash connected/ working
Get an 748 Topfairing.

Not an Duc in original outfit, but as I want it.
