G'day, everyone.
Father Christmas came early this year, look what just landed in my workshop. 😁
It originally came from Muriyama in Japan, is pretty original (It was missing the mirror pods, which I have and has indicators screwed into the fairings), but has the original Michelin tires and 16" Marvics.
It also has the Muriyama Ducati badge on the tail section it's number is 850345.
I'll slowly start to restore it to concourse condition over the coming months.

I'm in Gippsland Victoria, Yes, definately a buyers market there for a while, and I have been looking for sometime to find a nice one. On my travels I found some great other Italian bikes (Not just Dukes), at some great prices.

Still walking around shaking my head that I have finally got one of my favourite Ducati's, 😁

Yep, Glen, I've only ridden it a few times but, I've always wondered what they went like, I was plesantly suprised, feels really smooth compared to my air cooled M900.
Hopefully I'll have it ready this summer for the odd show if there are any around Vicco.

From all reports there are some events happening in Vic, I am never around to get involved as I am out of country a bit.

Seems to be some get togethers in Melb from time to time, just need to search & see what is going on !!!

Working on Dukes

Well for the past 5 years or so I've been working on them myself, as I have access to a pretty neat workshop, and it's more fun when you can tinker yourself.😄

If you hear of any events in Vicco coming up, please let me know as I'm sure a few guys on here would love to meet up and chew the fat.

I may be taking my Slater laverda Jota 120 and my 1957 BSA Road Rocket to the Island for the Island Classic in Jan 2011 for the Show and Shine, will you going to that one?

Hey Glen/Corsa...can I pry into the Slater Jota ?..Had a friend who raced an SFC for the lad's in Bromyard and my old man welded all the Jota exhaust ends on for Tim Healey (Ariel square 4) when they came in the country..

Hi,
All of the original Jota's were put together by Slaters, being tuned 3C/3CE's.
Two of my mates owned one of the 1st ones built, the same one at seperate times, which I was lucky enough to have a canter on back then, at the time I was racing Beezumph triples the DOHC Lav' was very quick but the handling was more than a bit scary, the bloody thing wanted to go straight on when I tried to flick it into the corners in the same style I would the Rob North or proddy beezumph's.

Tim Healey of the 'Healey Square Four' fame now that was a very nice revamp of an old classic bike, up there with the Rickman framed 750 Enfield Intercepter and the Seelly G50 Condor, although not as quick as this pair.
My Brother in Law was offered a 4 port Square Four in boxes for £50 back then and seriously thought about building a Heally, but bought a CB750K2 instead...

God that's made me feel old, I can remember these as close to new bikes..

Bromyard? I used to live a few kays away from there, I spent many a Sat/Sun at Slaters with my nose pressed against the showroom window dreaming of owning a Laverda!! lol....

I had a couple too, a standard 1979 Jota and a 1200 Motodd. Should never have sold, but spending most of my annual leave back in the UK trying to get the Motodd started again wore a bit thin with the wife after a few years.

Yeah, My Jota was owned by one of the mechanics at Slaters, it's featured in One of the Laverda books (The name which escapes me right now).

Hi guys Newbie here,

Hopefully MikeSPS you will be able to help me. One of your fellow forum members has advised me of the picture of the Motodd. As I am sure you are aware they are quite rare with only approx 45 Mk1 - 3 frames being produced. I have a Mk2 project at present and am trying to identify as many of the others as posssible with a view to producing a website. I have had a reasonable amount of success. I was hoping that you may be able to provide some pictures or technical details and any other information on your Mk 1.

I also have a 1995 900SS which I bought early this year and am enjoying owning it. I recognise some of the comments on this thread and wonder if any of you have posted on Laverdapedia or Laverda forum as it now is? I look forward to hearing from you.
