Looking for early rear hugger

Hi,
I'm finally getting the rebuild underway in earnest of Jimmy Adamo's first 851 race bike. When I got the bike it had a later style rear wheel hugger jury rigged on it, and have not been able to find one that looks like the one in the attached photo, the only photo I have of the actual bike from back in the day that shows it fairly well. Also attached a current photo of the top side of the swing arm, where it would mount, note the front tab for a screw that would be parallel to the ground. As best as I have been able to confirm, this bike is one of the first seven built in late 1987, and have no reason to believe this is not the original swing arm. Although, I do know it was crashed pretty good in its time.
Can anyone tell me if the Tricolore hugger mounts this way? If someone could post a good detail photo of theirs showing the mounting and a side view of the huger shape, that would help, as we may have to make one. Of course, any leads on sources for buying one of these older style huggers, new or used, would be great.

Tricolore rear hugger

Its a tricky find this one, I am fairly sure that the hugger was also in GRP not plastic as per the front guard.

From memory the 4 side mounting points are the same as later swinging arms and the forward central mount is a bolt through the hugger. This will mean cutting off the tab on a later hugger.

If you can locate an early hugger from a Tric Strada it will look right and taking off the front tab to replace with a bolt will be very hard to spot.

Thank you Guy. A later one is my fall back choice, but the search continues. As I'm disassembling it I've found, so far, the cooling plumbing is set up much different than any pictures or manuals of the early 851's I've been able to find. Don't know if that is because of Reno's handy work, the factory, or both.

Mate it's a big world out there & I am sure that in some ones GOLD room of bits and bobs there is one hidden.

I have been searching the world for a rear plate holder for my Kit and to this minute totally unsuccessful, but on some of the stradas that are about & slowly being dismantled and wrecked for parts they will eventually come up.

The trick is to have a finger on the pulse so that you can grab it when the item hits the net !!

Best of luck with your search mate, I will keep an eye out also as I am hunting bit all of the time.

I think I may have a solution for this one. I went to (http://www.airtech-streamlining.com/...88_1992-94.htm) and scrolled down to the hugger shown for that series of 851's and it looked liked the early one. I called Dutch at Airtech and he figured it was an older mis-labeled photo. So he checked their molds and he has one for a "first generation" rear hugger (see attached photo) that seemed to fit what I described to him, so I ordered one (about $90 shipped). I'm not sure about the sides, as the photos in all the books, etc that I have, the sides are in shadow or blocked by an exhaust. But as best as I can tell, the rear shape looks right. He says Airtech can supply bodywork for three generations of 851/888 bikes.
