I think I may have a solution for this one. I went to (
http://www.airtech-streamlining.com/...88_1992-94.htm) and scrolled down to the hugger shown for that series of 851's and it looked liked the early one. I called Dutch at Airtech and he figured it was an older mis-labeled photo. So he checked their molds and he has one for a "first generation" rear hugger (see attached photo) that seemed to fit what I described to him, so I ordered one (about $90 shipped). I'm not sure about the sides, as the photos in all the books, etc that I have, the sides are in shadow or blocked by an exhaust. But as best as I can tell, the rear shape looks right. He says Airtech can supply bodywork for three generations of 851/888 bikes.
