firefly_1965 I know this is a Ducati site, but i wanted to share this picture with my fellow members. Due to work commitments i couldnt make Goodwood this year, but a friend emailed me this picture of two of my favourite old boys who make these events so much fun, one had much more racing success than the other, i'm sure you can guess which one. Had the privilege of meeting Senior Agostini a few years back, he was truly charming and a gent. As for Piero Laverda, words fail to describe his enthusiasm. Sorry for hijacking the 851/888 forum. Regards
firefly_1965 Hello Thomas, I agree with you he is very charming and interesting and he also manages to get the that old beast the V6 out at least a few times a year. I have heard the V6 in the flesh it makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand up. I have been lucky to have owned quite a variety of bikes over the years and absolutely love Dukes, but there is only one bike i wish i could own more than any other. Its the one in the pics below.
hauge I´ve seen and heard it a few times. I would lite to hear it on the track when somone pulling it to the rew limit. I only heard it on the road or just idling. Number two is about to get ready: http://www.laverdamuseum.nl/ Cheers Thomas
burtsp5 Goodwood Hi, Yes i agree i had the pleasure of meeting the great men at Goodwood and we exchanged stories and had a good 'boys talk' that seemed to go on for ages. He loved my Ducati as i did his Laverda and if i could get my hands on a 500 monti to rebuild then im afraid the bank balance would we stretched again. A wonderful wonderful show never to be missed. Thanks for the pictures. Guy😄
