starter not starting

Just got in from the garage having run all the wiring looms round the frame. All connections made,but before I start zip tying the looms in position I thought that I'd have a quick check on things. The only thing not in place is the tank. Lights ok, indys ok,brake lights ok, horn ok, idiot lights ok........ but tried the starter... nothing. Solonoid clicks but no reaction from starter. Relays at the back end are both clicking. My son has suggested that the tank should be connected to complete all the wiring. So, is he right? 😳 Gonna chill with a pint of Ruddles now and carry on in the morn.... Mick

Clicking from starter solenoid but no turning action usually means no battery power I always found.

Hopefully the problem is solved.😁 What stoopid pillock forgot to connect the Earth cable from the crankcase to the battery?. 😱 😱 .Coffee break over, back to work, hey ho.

Hi Mick,
As Griff's said it sounds like a low battery output to me, or a poor earth connection.

The neutral switch has absolutley no bearing on how the bike/bikes electrics perform, other than to tell lies!
I always remove the neutral light switch and blank the hole off with a bolt.
That way it can't tell anymore lies!
Over here in the UK older bikers call these "Idiot Lights"...
They weren't fitted to bikes years ago and we don't need them now.

sorry my mistake ... I confused it with the side stand switch that caused 30 mins of panic with my 998 the evening before I've to go to Rjieka track 😱
