Anybody know of a reputable Ducati frame repair place in the US? I may want to get a 900SS frame checked to see if it's tweaked/bent. No idea what it should cost to measure/repair if there is a problem. Also, how do they straighten a frame... just bend it back??? Mind you I cannot visibly tell if there is a defect, but it steers differently (read scary) than my other 900SS. Forks are fine as I swap them back and forth.

computrac can see if it's bent. they do straighten frames but don't know if they can do a great job on a ducati frame. They do lots of aluminum frames.

Yeah, there's not a Computrak around me. I have found some frame repair places listed online that do Ducati's and you can actually see them on the racks. I just don't want to spend a lot of dough if I actually do this, so references would be helpful. I might dial up my local dealer and ask if they know of someone. Just interested because I may be selling one of my 900's to a family member and I want to make sure it's alright. Otherwise I wouldn't bother.

Hi
A simple check you can do yourself.
I always set my backwheel to have it in line with the front, regardless of the marks at the swingarm. Easy to measure with long rulers (alu planks) pressed against the back wheel and a ruler to the front. Then I check that the sprockets are in line with a shorter ruler.
If I could not get those two aligned at the same time I would consider the frame and or fork as bent in some way.
