Hi all this started as a very cheap strada and i hope you all agree that it is looking OK now
Still some bits to finish but that can wait untill the winter, just need some good weather

Never mind Mr R!! In my opinon they seriously detract from what is otherwise a beautiful looking bike.But,each to his own.

WTF were you thinking of putting those shorty cans on a 851/888???
The rest of the bike looks very nice, the footrests are very neat, but those cans, where's my hammer and nails? I feel the need to build a man size Crucifix I'll leave it to the rest of you to guess who'll I'd nail to it???

just in from the pub and having a laugf at the replys
this is the reason i bought a dog in the first place so i could play about with it .
you should have seen the cans before i attacked them they were sticking out past the tail light
half a hour later and two broken hacksaws and haypresto race cans then just had to get the carbonfiber work done
OK off to bed i will have a sore head in the morning but hope the sun is out soo i can take one of the bikes out for a run

This is what I love (not!) about these guys... I personally own Ducatis because no other bike makes me feel like a Ducati does and I like to be different. That seems to be a reason for others as well, yet most of these gents have the "Harley" mentality and feel the need to be sheep. Either go with the flow or get chastised. Keep being the wolf as there seems to be many opportunities to eat!!!

back when i bought the 888 i was looking for a really rough one on purpose i did not want another bike that i was afraid of changing i have another 2 bikes that are factory fresh already
the 888 was running but was a real dog and was a strada, i did think about doing the full nuts and bolts job on it but i wanted somethink that i could use and not just keep clean
i cut down the rear sub frame and the tail section is the originall strad bits that i cut and fitted together it now fits really well and it still uses the standard seat ( seat covered in leather rough side out to give it a diffrent look) cut down the rear mud gaurd as far as i could ( it was already cut down a bit)
Front suspension was a pain started of with **** forks so i got a set of 900 ones did some work on them but way too soft could not get them to work then i managed to get a set of 888 springs from someone on one of the sites ( i may have been from here thanks to him)managed to make a good set of forks from 3 sets of forks and they now work well.
one of my mates did the paint ( how many diffrent paint jobs did i think off) i did not want to try and kid on that it was a SP because it ios not but wanted something that worked i even thougth about not going RED !!!!
spent lots of time with a tooth brush on cold nights when the kids were asleep
i have just put the tax disk on at the helmet lock but i really want to fit a steering dwmper there more for the look because it handels great
exhausts were remus oval ones and originally stuck out past the tail light, did think about getting temis but lets be difrent and out comes the hack saw they got shorter and shorter untill they looked good repacked them and got the carbon done from a great guy who also made the hangers from my templated ( sound great now )
still more to play with but i can drive it any time and not worry about it not going to do much with the engine got a 996 SPS when i want to go crazzy
This really made me feel like 16 again remember wem we used to really play about with our bikes ( fitting monoshocks from LCs onto suzuki X7 just for the fun of it and thinking that it made it handel better!!!!)
Ops sun is out must cut the grass then maybe get out for a blast.

Now this bit is gospel, this afternoon a friend Terry who's a MA (hons) in Geology came round and gave me some real good info on the best stones to use.

I might be wrong here but I don't think Paul that meens me, unless I've completely read the signs wrong? I think I can guess who he meens though.
Don't worry Paul I'm a handy carpenter and can knock up as many full sized Crosses for the forum members needs.
I recommend English Green Oak as it'll last for years outside, there's buildings from the Tudor times still standing in the UK and that's what the timber frames were made from.
Our own home which's over 300 years old has Oak lintels over the door frames in the kitchen, they've never been painted and are still as solid as the day they were put in place.
