My Tesi, 851 Kit, DB1, and 851

Here's couple Ducati powered bikes from my collection....

Bimota Tesi 1D

I just finished the belts on this bike.....holy crap that was a nightmare!:😯

851 kit bike

Bimota DB1...She's got a 750 pantah motor...I think thats what it was called. Cool little bike.

851....I got to take a picture of this one for you all......

Nice bikes, I to have allways liked Tricolor, and would never sell mine unless unable to ride It, however I have allways wanted to put the tesi in to my collection but as of now this has not happended yet.

How do you rate Tesi and have you encuntered any problems with ownership, I assume service work tricky.

Nice collection, the 851 is a pearler; seeing the DB1 in not quite original form has reassured me I won't be the only Bimota heretic around when I've finished restoring mine.

Yea.....I try to ride every bike I have but it's not easy. There's 112 in the collection. Mostly all Jap stuff,AMA race bikes and WSB stuff. RC30's, RC45,R7's,many more Bimota's😝

I didn't realize there were DB1 fans here. I thought it was all 4 valves per cylinder and liquid cooling. Being new around here can I simpley post pictures or do I need certain privileges beyond joining the forum?

Be warned folks I have seen quite a few pics of Bob's collection...be prepared to sit back and enjoy as they are simply amazing...

I had the same Tesi SR , the Kit and the DB1. I didn't think much to the DB1, it was nice but regret selling The Kit and especially the Tesi. The Tesi SR rode really well. I had a little race down from GA mountains against a mate on his SPO, I would say of equal enough riding ability, my Tesi sporting a 944 kit was much quicker.

I noticed yours has the Ohlins upgrade kit , did you also get the Arrow mufflers? I know there were a few available when I purchased them from Bob Smith but that was many years ago.

Cracker 851 & other Bimoto's.

I see the Tesi still has the original rear sprocket on her I am assuming it is low k's.

Good to know that most of us also believe in the Italian heritage.

Tesi has 759km......I'm having a little trouble with the dash, Can't get the tach to work properly. Any thoughts? I checked all the connections. They all look good, maybe something shit the bed inside the guages themselves. It's a sealed unit so it looks like it's beyond my mechanical skill😏

If you can get inside of it then I would suggest refreshing the soldering on the pins which are poking thru the power board, to the naked eye they would seem to be ok but as it has been sitting around for quite some time the soldering has actually become dry.

If you were successful in getting inside of the dash and you can grab a big magnifying glass then you might be able to spot a dry looking piece of solder at the back of the power board.

Consequently you might just happen to have a bad connection via the electrical board & the powered required is not getting to where it should.

Lovely bikes, I would go for the DB1 ....or the OW 01, even if it does not have the DESMO sticker....wasn't it Colin Edward's toy at the time?
