first test for press was made in september 1987 at mugello by Danny Coe of "Cycle" and Bruno de Prato

the bike had two injectors per cylinders, paso style silencers, compression ratio 10,5:1, valves dia 32 and 28 for 102HP at 8250 g/m (a little less than 90HP at wheel), max torque 8,9 kgm at 8000 g/m; marzocchi m1r front suspension and ohlins mono shock, 16" wheels (130/60-16 and 160/60-16), caster angle 27°30' for a wheel to wheel length of 1430 mm

in that autumn/winter ducati tried to put the 851 engine even in a paso frame without good results

Anyone know if that bike still exists? That's gotta bring some big cabbage!!!

Note the different intake venting on the center cowel. Pretty sweet! Beautiful really.

air intake was very similar to the first 851 ride by Lucky at daytona in 1987 even if the first appearance of desmo4 was at bol d'or in 1986 in 748cc version

Indeed....... the bke that brought Ducati into modern world and nearly a dozen World Championships.

Sadly it probably just sits these days when it should be getting out 1--2 times a year.
